About
What I have enjoyed most in my several years of public relations work in both the non-profit and political sectors is writing. After attending the University of Southern Indiana, where I received my BA in Creative Writing in 2014, I joined the public relations team at the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) as an intern. A year later, I transitioned to an Assistant Public Information Officer and eventually a Public Information Officer leading communication strategies on several major DPW projects and operations.
After relocating to Chicago, IL I worked as the Communications Coordinator for the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago (MSI). During my time in this role, I wrote copy for their social media accounts, press releases, website and led communication strategy on campaigns around exhibitions. In my last role as a Communications Associate for PSE Healthy Energy, an independent scientific research institute, I assisted with communication efforts and strategies related to scientific studies on climate and energy.
Whether informing the public of the impact of natural gas in their homes, a construction project that affects their daily commute, or capturing the fun and awe of science-based exhibitions, I use writing and media relations to engage the audience you want to reach.
